Anushka Sen has achieved another significant milestone in her international career after being named the Global Ambassador representing India at the 2026 Newport Beach Film Festival. The announcement comes shortly after her upcoming Korean film Jeju Olle, co-starring Kang Hyung-suk, was announced to premiere at the festival. Her appointment marks an important moment for the actress while creating fresh opportunities to strengthen cultural connections between India and South Korea through cinema.

Speaking about the honour, Sen highlighted that the recognition carries a deeper meaning beyond the title itself. She said, “Being named the Global Ambassador representing India at the Newport Beach Film Festival is a moment that means more to me than words can express. For me, this is about so much more than a title; it is about the stories we carry, the boundaries we break, and the doors we open for those who come after us.”

The actress also expressed her desire to inspire young Indians, particularly girls, to explore unconventional paths and pursue their ambitions without limitations. Emphasising the importance of talent and self-belief, she said, “India has incredible talent and stories that deserve to be heard across the world. I want every young Indian to know that you don’t have to fit into a certain mould to make your country proud. Where you come from can be your greatest strength, and your dreams should never be limited by your circumstances.”

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Sen said she hopes her journey will encourage more young Indians to believe in themselves and represent the country on international platforms. She added, “I feel incredibly fortunate to be experiencing this, and I hope more young Indians get the chance to represent our country on global platforms. If my journey can encourage someone to believe in themselves and take a step towards their dreams, that would mean a lot to me,” She further said, “For me, the real achievement is seeing Indian talent find its place on the global stage. I feel truly proud to represent my country, and I hope to make this moment count for something bigger than myself,”

With her Korean film debut and the ambassadorial honour, Sen is expanding her presence beyond the Indian entertainment industry. Her growing international journey highlights the potential for stronger creative partnerships between India and South Korea, while bringing Indian talent and storytelling to a wider global audience.
