PM Modi Prays for Well-Being of Indians During Visit to Srisailam Temple

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday, offering prayers for the well-being and prosperity of all Indians. Posting on social media, he said he prayed for the good health, happiness, and prosperity of his fellow citizens. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan during the temple visit, marking a significant spiritual engagement during his day-long state tour.


Srisailam temple is a unique pilgrimage site, housing both a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth within its premises. Temple priests and officials welcomed the Prime Minister and state leaders, guiding them through rituals and explaining the temple’s historical and spiritual significance. PM Modi’s visit to Srisailam was his first, making him the fourth Prime Minister to offer prayers at this revered shrine after Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and P. V. Narasimha Rao.


Following his darshan, PM Modi visited the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex featuring a ‘Dhyana Mandir’ (Meditation Hall) and models of four iconic forts – Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri. The complex commemorates the historic visit of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to Srisailam in 1677 and includes a statue of Shivaji Maharaj in meditation. Officials of the Sree Shivaji Memorial Committee briefed the Prime Minister on the significance of the Kendra and its features, highlighting the historical and cultural importance of the site.


The Prime Minister’s visit began at Kurnool airport, where he was received by Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, CM Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. From Kurnool, he traveled by road to Sundipenta Helipad and then to the temple, emphasizing the symbolic importance of the journey. After the prayers, PM Modi returned to the Sundipenta Helipad by road to continue his official schedule.


During the day, he also addressed the Super GST Super Saving public meeting at Raaga Mayuri Green Hills in Nannuru village. This meeting is part of a state-level campaign to raise public awareness of the latest GST reforms and to highlight initiatives by the Union and state governments aimed at promoting financial prudence and efficiency.


In addition to spiritual and public engagements, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth around Rs 13,430 crore. These initiatives span multiple sectors, including industry, energy and power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, petroleum, and natural gas. The projects are expected to strengthen economic growth, enhance connectivity, and provide employment opportunities across the region.


PM Modi’s visit to Srisailam, combining spiritual reverence with developmental initiatives, underscores his commitment to promoting cultural heritage alongside economic progress. The temple visit, coupled with public and developmental engagements, reflects the Prime Minister’s approach to integrating tradition, governance, and development for the welfare of all citizens.
