Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has sparked fresh controversy with her latest remarks cautioning women against live-in relationships. Addressing the 47th convocation of Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith in Varanasi, Patel warned that women who enter such relationships risk severe consequences, stating, “You will be found in 50 pieces.” Her comments come a day after she urged people to visit orphanages to witness the fallout of live-in arrangements, highlighting young girls, some barely 15, raising children alone.

Patel, who also serves as chancellor of state universities, expressed deep concern over rising instances of violence and exploitation against women.
