Delhi Arrest: Man Held for Assisting Suicide Bomber in Making Explosives

New Delhi | November 17, 2025

A major breakthrough has been made in the investigation into the deadly November 10 suicide attack near Delhi’s Red Fort. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Amir Rashid Ali, who is accused of helping the suicide bomber carry out the explosion that killed 13 people in one of the busiest areas of the capital.

According to court documents, Ali played a crucial role in arranging materials and helping prepare the improvised explosive device (IED) used in the attack. The bomber, identified as Umar Un Nabi through DNA testing, was a doctor from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Investigators say Ali frequently visited a safehouse arranged by Nabi, where both worked together on the explosive device and final attack plan.

Ali was arrested in Delhi and produced in a special NIA court, where investigators secured 10 days of custody. They told the court that Ali not only helped source and transport material for the IED but also provided logistical support that directly enabled the suicide bomber’s movements. The Hyundai i20 used in the attack was found registered under Ali’s name, and officials revealed he had travelled from Pampore to Delhi to purchase the vehicle before converting it for use as a bomb-laden car.

The NIA plans to take Ali to Jammu and Kashmir as part of the wider probe into a “white collar” terror module. This module, uncovered earlier in Haryana’s Faridabad, shocked investigators because all the accused were doctors working at Al Falah University. Nabi was linked to this group, and the NIA is now examining the university for irregularities ranging from administrative issues to financial transactions.

The deadly blast at a traffic point in Chandni Chowk has raised serious concerns about how educated professionals are being recruited into sophisticated terror networks. With Ali’s arrest, investigators hope to uncover the complete chain of planning, support, and funding behind the attack.

The probe continues to expand as agencies attempt to piece together the broader network that enabled the suicide bombing in the heart of the national

Delhi Arrest: Man Held for Assisting Suicide Bomber in Making Explosives

A disturbing update from Delhi, where investigators have arrested Amir Rashid Ali for allegedly helping the suicide bomber behind the Red Fort attack. This case has shaken the city, not just because of the tragic loss of 13 lives, but because the accused were educated professionals who used their skills for violence instead of healing. Ali is believed to have arranged materials, visited the safehouse, and helped prepare the explosive device that was used in the Hyundai i20 registered under his name. The NIA is now taking him to Jammu and Kashmir to dig deeper into the white collar module linked to the case, which includes several doctors. The investigation continues as agencies try to uncover how such a network was built, funded, and operated. A chilling reminder of how terror can hide behind ordinary faces and everyday roles.
