India Showcases Culture and Heritage at State Dinner for Vietnam President

India highlighted its cultural richness and traditional heritage during the state visit of Vietnam’s President Tô Lâm. The visit was marked by ceremonial warmth and a special focus on strengthening bilateral ties through cultural exchange, symbolic gifts, and traditional Indian hospitality.


As part of the official welcome, the Vietnamese President was presented with a brass Buddha along with a Bodhi tree and “Namoh 108”, a special lotus variety. The gifts symbolised India’s spiritual heritage and artistic craftsmanship, reflecting deep-rooted cultural traditions and shared values of peace and harmony.


The state dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan featured a curated menu showcasing regional cuisines from Bihar and Maharashtra. Dishes such as Silao Khaja, Gaya Anarsa, Mithila Makhana, and Ratnagiri mango highlighted India’s diverse culinary landscape, offering the guest a taste of authentic regional flavours.


The entire event reflected India’s use of cultural diplomacy to deepen international relations. Through symbolic gifts and traditional cuisine, India presented its heritage as a bridge for stronger engagement with Vietnam, reinforcing mutual respect and growing partnership between the two nations.
