Single-Point Security Screening Now Active Between Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro at New Ashok Nagar

New Delhi | January 11, 2026

Commuters interchanging between Namo Bharat and the Delhi Metro at New Ashok Nagar will now undergo security screening only once, making travel faster and more convenient. The new single-point security check is aimed at reducing waiting times and streamlining passenger movement.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) explained that this facility is specifically for passengers switching between the New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat station and the adjacent Blue Line Metro station. A dedicated footbridge now connects the two stations, with a new security checkpoint established at Gate No. 2 of the Metro station.

As per the new arrangement, Metro passengers heading towards Namo Bharat or Noida, and Namo Bharat commuters travelling towards Meerut, will no longer be subject to repeated security checks. The NCRTC noted that this will significantly shorten overall travel time and enhance the efficiency of Namo Bharat, which links Delhi and Meerut in under an hour.

A similar footbridge has been operationalised at Ghaziabad’s Namo Bharat station, providing a direct connection to the Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda Metro station. Plans are underway to install travelators on these footbridges to make commuting smoother in busy areas.

This step is part of NCRTC’s wider initiative to provide seamless end-to-end urban travel. Integrated QR ticketing across Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro apps has already been introduced, allowing commuters to book tickets via either system.

Single-Point Security Screening Introduced Between Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro at New Ashok Nagar

Commuters switching between Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro at New Ashok Nagar can now enjoy faster travel, thanks to the operationalisation of a single-point security check. This new facility allows passengers to undergo security screening just once, streamlining urban transit and reducing travel time.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) stated that the facility is designed for passengers interchanging between the New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat station and the adjacent Metro station on the Blue Line. A dedicated operational footbridge now connects the two stations, while a new security checkpoint has been set up at Gate No. 2 of the Metro station.

Under this arrangement, Delhi Metro passengers heading towards Namo Bharat or Noida, and Namo Bharat commuters travelling towards Meerut, will no longer face repeated frisking. NCRTC highlighted that this will make interchanges quicker, supporting the high-speed advantage of Namo Bharat, which connects Delhi and Meerut in under an hour.

A similar footbridge has also been made operational at Ghaziabad’s Namo Bharat station, linking it directly to the Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda Metro station. Travelators are planned for installation on these footbridges to facilitate smoother movement in the busy stations.

This initiative is part of NCRTC’s broader effort to offer seamless end-to-end urban travel, including integrated QR ticketing across Namo Bharat and Delhi Metro platforms for easier mobile ticket booking.
