Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday announced a major expansion of the group’s investments in Gujarat, pledging to double the company’s commitment to the state to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years. Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra, Ambani strongly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling him an “invincible protective wall” for India amid global uncertainty.
Addressing the gathering in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, Ambani said Reliance has already invested ₹3.5 lakh crore in Gujarat over the past five years, making it the state’s largest investor. He said the fresh investment would generate large-scale employment, strengthen livelihoods and create long-term wealth for both Gujarat and the country.
Lauding the “Modi era”, Ambani credited the Prime Minister with restoring India’s civilisational confidence and global standing. He said India has moved from potential to performance and from aspiration to action under Modi’s leadership, adding that the current phase would be remembered as the period when India emerged as a decisive global force.
Referring to global geopolitical challenges, Ambani said India remains resilient because of strong leadership at the Centre. He reiterated Reliance’s deep-rooted connection with Gujarat, calling it the company’s “body, heart and soul.” Ambani also expressed support for the Prime Minister’s vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad, announcing Reliance Foundation’s partnership with the state government to develop and manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura as a hub for future sporting talent.
