Luxury Mercedes Used to Deliver Drugs in Ahmedabad, Three Arrested as Main Supplier Goes Missing
Ahmedabad, Gujarat | December 30, 2025
What looked like an ordinary luxury car moving through the outskirts of Ahmedabad turned out to be part of a well-planned drug delivery operation, exposing how narcotics were being supplied discreetly ahead of New Year celebrations. Gujarat Police have arrested three people in the case after intercepting a Mercedes car carrying hybrid marijuana, while the main supplier behind the racket remains absconding.
According to police officials, the case came to light after the State Monitoring Cell received specific intelligence about drug movement linked to rave parties planned for December 31. Acting on this input, police kept a close watch on a residential area near Shela Bopal Road, where the suspected supplier was believed to be operating from.
During the operation, officers seized 432 grams of hybrid marijuana valued at approximately Rs 15.12 lakh. Investigators said the drugs were meant to be distributed at private rave parties organised at farmhouses in and around Ahmedabad, where demand typically rises during the year-end festivities.
Police revealed that the supplier, identified as Archit Agarwal, used a Mercedes car to transport the drugs in order to avoid drawing attention. The luxury vehicle helped him blend in with regular traffic, reducing the chances of being stopped or searched. Agarwal allegedly sourced the hybrid marijuana from Thailand and handled the initial transportation himself.
As per the investigation so far, Agarwal would drive the Mercedes from his residence and then hand over the consignment to his driver at a pre-decided location. The driver was paid Rs 10,000 for each delivery trip. From there, buyers or middlemen would collect the drugs for further distribution.
On Monday afternoon, police surveillance teams noticed Agarwal leaving his residence along with his associate Chinmay Soni and driver Rahul Bhadoria. Officers discreetly followed the vehicle as it moved away from the area. A short distance later, Agarwal allegedly dropped Bhadoria on the roadside with a package before driving off with Soni.
Bhadoria waited at the spot holding the parcel. Shortly after, two men, later identified as Ravi Markan and Darshan Parikh, arrived to collect it. Police teams moved in immediately and detained all three on the spot. Upon checking the package, officers confirmed it contained hybrid marijuana intended for sale.
The arrested individuals were taken into custody for questioning. Police said Markan and Parikh had come to purchase the drugs, which were to be supplied to party organisers and customers attending dance events at farmhouses across the city and nearby areas.
While Bhadoria, Markan, and Parikh have been arrested, the main accused Archit Agarwal managed to flee and is currently on the run. Police teams have launched a search operation to trace his whereabouts. Officials said raids are being conducted at multiple locations, and efforts are underway to identify his contacts and financial transactions.
Investigators are also trying to establish the wider network involved in the operation, including other buyers, party organisers, and possible international links related to drug sourcing. Authorities believe the racket may be part of a larger supply chain catering to high-end party circuits.
Senior police officials said the timely action helped prevent a large quantity of drugs from reaching parties planned for New Year’s Eve. They added that surveillance will be intensified across the city during the festive period to curb similar activities.
Further investigation is ongoing, and police said more arrests cannot be ruled out as they continue to follow leads connected to the case.
