Tensions Rise in Hormuz as US Calls for Immediate Compliance

During a conversation with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that all commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz should immediately comply with instructions issued by US forces. The message came amid heightened focus on maritime operations and regional stability.
India, however, raised strong concerns regarding actions affecting civilian shipping and Indian sailors. Emphasising the importance of maritime safety, Jaishankar conveyed that “Lethal actions against commercial shipping not justified,” while registering India’s protest over the developments.
