PM Modi Reflects on India’s Key Achievements in 2025, Highlights Nation’s Growing Self-Confidence

New Delhi, December 28, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reviewed India’s major achievements and milestones over the past year during his monthly radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, noting that 2025 has given the nation “even greater self-confidence” as it moves into 2026.


Addressing the nation, PM Modi said, “As 2026 approaches, I recall the memories of the entire year – the images, discussions, and achievements that brought Indians together. 2025 gave us many moments that made every citizen proud.” He emphasized that India’s presence and impact were felt across multiple arenas – from national security and science to sports and cultural heritage.


On national security, the Prime Minister highlighted Operation Sindoor, the military action against terrorists in May, calling it a symbol of pride for the country. “The world witnessed that today’s India does not compromise on its security. During the operation, images of devotion to Maa Bharati emerged from across the nation, showing unity and patriotism,” he said.


Cultural pride was also a defining feature of 2025. PM Modi recalled the 150th anniversary of the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’, urging citizens to share messages using the hashtag #VandeMataram150. He noted the enthusiastic response, reflecting India’s love for its heritage.


In sports, the Prime Minister celebrated historic victories. “Our Men’s Cricket Team won the ICC Champions Trophy, while the Women’s Cricket Team clinched the World Cup for the first time. The Women’s Blind T20 World Cup was also won by our daughters of India. The Tricolour flew high in the Asia Cup T20, and para-athletes won several medals in global competitions, proving determination knows no barriers,” he said.


PM Modi also highlighted India’s achievements in science and space. He mentioned Indian astronaut Shubanshu Shukla’s journey to the International Space Station as a milestone demonstrating the country’s technological progress.


Environmental protection and wildlife conservation marked another area of progress, with the population of cheetahs in India surpassing 30. Cultural and religious events, including the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh and the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, further showcased India’s rich heritage.


He also acknowledged the growing support for Swadeshi products, noting the public’s preference for goods made through Indian effort. At the same time, the Prime Minister expressed grief over natural disasters that affected parts of the country during 2025.


Concluding his address, PM Modi said, “Today, we can proudly say that 2025 has given India even greater self-confidence. With new hopes and resolutions, the nation is ready to move forward in 2026.”
