UP BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary Launches West Uttar Pradesh Tour, Urges Party Cadre to Prepare for 2026 Panchayat Elections

Lucknow | December 28, 2025

Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Pankaj Chaudhary on Saturday began his first tour of western Uttar Pradesh after taking charge as the state unit chief, calling on party workers to gear up for the 2026 panchayat elections while keeping an eye on the 2027 assembly polls.

Chaudhary started his tour from Mathura, where he paid obeisance at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan. From there, he travelled to Agra and addressed party workers and office bearers, stressing the need for early preparation, organisational discipline and strong grassroots engagement ahead of the upcoming elections.

During his visit, Chaudhary reiterated his firm stand against caste-based meetings within the party. He reminded public representatives and workers that the BJP’s constitution does not allow such gatherings and warned that organising them would be treated as an act of indiscipline. His remarks came days after he issued a circular on December 25, clearly directing party leaders to avoid caste-focused events.

Speaking to the media in Mathura, Chaudhary said he had already taken a tough stand against one such meeting and cautioned elected leaders to stay away from practices that go against the party’s principles. He underlined that the BJP represents all sections of society and works with an inclusive vision.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of sarv samaj,” Chaudhary said, referring to the idea of representing all communities. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of “sabka saath, sabka vikas” reflects the party’s commitment to inclusive development and nation-building. According to him, the country is witnessing large-scale development projects under BJP-led governments, which should be highlighted at the grassroots level.

As part of his tour, Chaudhary is expected to cover several districts of western Uttar Pradesh. The BJP said he will hold meetings with district-level office bearers, booth-level workers and local leaders to understand regional political issues and organisational challenges. Gathering feedback from the ground, he said, would help strengthen the party ahead of key electoral battles.

In Mathura, the state BJP chief also paid floral tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Deen Dayal Dham in Farah, recalling the party’s ideological roots and emphasis on integral humanism. Party leaders said the visit was aimed at reconnecting workers with the BJP’s core values while energising the organisation.

Later in the day, Chaudhary reached Agra, where he addressed an organisational meeting of the BJP’s Braj region. He interacted with booth-level workers and senior office bearers, listening to their concerns and offering guidance on election readiness. He urged party cadres to strengthen booth management, expand outreach and remain active well before the panchayat polls.

Chaudhary also voiced support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, saying it was necessary to ensure transparency and accuracy in the electoral process. He said party workers should help spread awareness about the revision exercise among voters.

The BJP president received a warm welcome from party leaders and workers in both Mathura and Agra, with supporters gathering to greet him during his arrival. Leaders said the tour signals the start of focused organisational work under Chaudhary’s leadership.

Party insiders believe the western Uttar Pradesh tour is significant as the region plays a key role in both panchayat and assembly elections. By starting his tenure with direct interaction at the grassroots level, Chaudhary aims to set the tone for discipline, unity and early mobilisation within the party as it prepares for the electoral challenges ahead.
