Minister of State for Defence Meets Indian Community in UAE

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth met members of the Indian community in the UAE during a special programme organised by the Indian People’s Forum (IPF). The gathering brought together a large number of NRIs from Jharkhand, showing the growing influence and active participation of the state’s diaspora in the region. IPF, a platform that connects Indians from more than 24 states, shared that it is steadily expanding its presence. The organisation now operates 13 State Councils and is preparing to introduce its 25th vertical—the Jharkhand Council.
Representatives of IPF expressed gratitude to the Consulate General of India for supporting the event and ensuring meaningful engagement between the Indian community and the visiting minister. They said the session highlighted how strongly NRIs feel about staying connected to India and contributing to its initiatives abroad. Many participants also shared how collaborations like this help them feel more involved in national progress, even while living overseas.
Sanjay Seth’s three-day visit to the UAE had a packed schedule. He took part in the Dubai Airshow, where he inaugurated and visited the India Pavilion, showcasing the country’s growing defence capabilities. He also interacted with promising Indian start-ups at the Vista Zone and attended a roundtable with industry leaders to discuss future opportunities for cooperation. His visit also included a bilateral meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Defence, where both sides explored ways to deepen defence partnerships.
Throughout the visit, Seth emphasised the important role played by the Indian diaspora in strengthening India’s global relationships. He noted that the UAE continues to be a key partner for India, not just in defence but across multiple sectors. The minister praised the dedication of overseas Indians and encouraged them to continue supporting India’s development journey.
