Hyderabad, May 10, 2026
India marked a major step toward strengthening its textile industry as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first PM MITRA Park in Warangal, Telangana. The mega textile project is aimed at building an integrated ecosystem for textile manufacturing, creating large-scale employment opportunities and boosting India’s position in the global textile market.
Spread across more than 1,300 acres, the Warangal textile park is expected to attract massive investments and generate thousands of jobs in the coming years. Developed under the PM MITRA scheme, the project follows the government’s “Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign” vision, focusing on strengthening every stage of the textile value chain under one platform.
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of the textile sector in driving economic growth and empowering workers and entrepreneurs. The park is also expected to benefit cotton farmers, textile manufacturers and exporters by improving connectivity, infrastructure and production efficiency.
The launch of the PM MITRA Park is being seen as a significant push for India’s manufacturing sector and textile exports. With Warangal becoming the first operational park under the scheme, the project is expected to pave the way for modern textile hubs across the country while supporting employment and industrial development.
