Threat Call from Foreign Number Targets Mathura Trust Chief Over Supreme Court Petition

Mathura | 27 March 2026

The president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust, Ashutosh Brahmachari Maharaj, has reportedly received a threatening phone call from an international number, allegedly originating from Pakistan. The caller warned him to withdraw a petition filed in the Supreme Court, issuing serious threats including bombing and abduction. Authorities have taken note of the incident and initiated an investigation.

According to available information, the call was received on Friday evening from a number with a +92 country code. The unidentified caller allegedly threatened that if the legal proceedings were not halted, both Brahmachari Maharaj and his advocate, Saurabh Ajay Gupta, could face severe consequences. The matter is linked to a Special Leave Petition filed on March 25 in the Supreme Court concerning a bail order in a sensitive case.

Following the threat, an immediate alert was raised through the emergency helpline, prompting a swift response from local police. Officials from the concerned police station reached the location and began preliminary inquiries. Senior authorities, including the Superintendent of Police, have been informed and are closely monitoring the situation.

Police officials have stated that a formal case will be registered after a detailed investigation, and necessary action will be taken as per the law. Security concerns are being taken seriously, and efforts are underway to trace the origin of the call and identify those responsible behind the threat.
