Indian Tourist Assaulted in Thailand’s Pattaya After Payment Dispute, Incident Caught on Camera

Pattaya (Thailand) | December 27

An Indian tourist was allegedly assaulted by a group of transgender women in Thailand’s Pattaya after a dispute over payment for sexual services, according to local media reports. The incident, which took place in the early hours of December 27, was captured on camera and videos of the assault have since gone viral on social media.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Raj Jasuja, an Indian national visiting the popular beach city. As per reports, the altercation began when Jasuja allegedly refused to pay the amount demanded by the transgender sex workers after an agreement for services.

In one of the circulating videos, three transgender women can be seen confronting Jasuja and demanding money. When he reportedly declined and tried to leave the area in his car, the situation escalated. The women allegedly accused him of refusing payment and, with the help of a few bystanders, pulled him out of the vehicle. He was then kicked and beaten on the road.

According to Thai news portal Thaiger, emergency rescue workers reached the spot shortly after the assault. Jasuja was found with visible injuries on his face and the back of his head. He was given first aid at the scene and later shifted to Pattamakun Hospital for further medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.

A 19-year-old Thai eyewitness told rescue personnel that the argument began near the entrance of the famous Walking Street, a busy nightlife zone in Pattaya. The witness claimed that the dispute turned violent after the Indian tourist allegedly did not pay the full agreed amount. What started as a verbal argument soon escalated into a physical confrontation, with more individuals joining in and leading to a group assault.

Thai police have stated that they will ask the injured tourist to file a formal complaint once he recovers. Authorities said a detailed investigation will be carried out in accordance with Thai law to determine responsibility and take appropriate legal action.

Pattaya, a major tourist destination, has witnessed similar incidents in the past. In September, an Indian tourist was reportedly attacked by a transgender sex worker following allegations of inappropriate behaviour. In another case in October, three transgender women allegedly assaulted two Indian nationals at a Pattaya hotel and fled with valuables worth around 24,000 baht (approximately ₹69,000).

The latest incident has once again raised concerns over tourist safety and disputes linked to Pattaya’s nightlife scene.
