Ranbir Kapoor’s first appearance from Love & War has offered the clearest glimpse yet into the mood of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film. While the bloodied and intense poster introduced audiences to Ranbir’s new screen persona, the reveal also drew attention for a much lighter reason — Alia Bhatt’s affectionate reaction to her husband and co-star.

Soon after the poster surfaced, Alia shared it on her Instagram account and kept her reaction short and personal. She wrote, “Hey Handsome.. Love & War in cinemas, January 21,2027 (sic).” Her response brought a playful contrast to a poster that presents Ranbir in a visibly injured and serious avatar.

Vicky Kaushal also amplified his co-star’s first-look reveal on social media. Sharing the poster, he wrote, “Love. War. And everything in between. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War See you on 21.01.2027 (sic).” The film brings Ranbir, Alia and Vicky together under Bhansali’s direction.

The project carries another point of interest for Ranbir as it reunites him with Bhansali after Saawariya, the 2007 film that marked his Bollywood debut. Alia has previously worked with the filmmaker in Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Love & War marks Vicky’s first collaboration with the director.

With Ranbir’s character now formally introduced, the campaign around Love & War has begun revealing more of the film’s visual world while keeping much of its story under wraps. The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 21, 2027, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Alia and Vicky’s reactions have added another layer of attention to the first-look launch as the film moves closer to its big-screen arrival.
