Rajnath Singh Opens Advanced Diagnostic Centre in Noida
New Delhi, August 22, 2026
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday inaugurated Mahajan Imaging & Labs’ new Integrated Diagnostic Centre at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra auditorium in Noida, marking the company’s entry into Uttar Pradesh after its presence in Delhi and Haryana. Noida MP Dr Mahesh Sharma and Lok Sabha MP Bansuri Swaraj were also present at the inauguration. The new facility reflects the growing importance of advanced diagnostic technology and integrated healthcare services in improving access to timely and accurate medical care.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony Rajnath Singh said that medical technology has made unprecedented progress over the past few years. Diseases that were once difficult to detect can now be identified more quickly and accurately through modern diagnostic techniques. He said the purpose of an effective diagnostic system should not only be to detect diseases but also to protect patients from unnecessary tests and incorrect diagnoses. Calling an integrated approach the need of the hour in modern healthcare, he said that having radiology, pathology and other diagnostic facilities under one roof prevents patients from having to move from one place to another, while doctors can make treatment-related decisions more easily when all reports are available together.
The Defence Minister also highlighted the long-standing and important relationship between medical science and the defence sector, noting the significant role of technologies such as radiology and ultrasonography in military healthcare and in assessing injured soldiers on the battlefield. He said strong medical infrastructure is essential in the defence sector and medical science must continue to integrate new technologies in the future. Referring to healthcare expansion, he said that schemes such as Ayushman Bharat have helped provide access to quality healthcare to around 45 crore people. He also pointed to the expansion of medical infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and stressed that with the elderly population expected to rise significantly by 2050, preventive healthcare must be given priority instead of focusing only on treatment after illness occurs.
The newly inaugurated centre will offer advanced facilities, including an AI-based ultra-fast 3.0 Tesla MRI and a 160-slice CT scanner. With radiology, pathology, genomics and personalised health check-up services available under one roof, the centre is expected to make advanced diagnostic services more convenient for patients in Noida and nearby areas. The facility represents another step towards a healthcare system where technology, early detection and integrated services can play a stronger role in improving patient care.
