In a significant move aimed at strengthening the credibility of India's examination system, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated a major administrative overhaul. The action reflects the government's focus on improving transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the conduct of national-level examinations following concerns over exam-related irregularities.

According to sources in the Ministry of Education, the NTA has terminated the services of 47 officials as part of a wider reform initiative. In addition, legal and criminal proceedings will be initiated against certain officials. Sources said the action is part of a broader campaign to introduce structural reforms within the agency and establish greater accountability.

The ministry has indicated that more key reform measures will be introduced in the coming days. The NTA has remained under scrutiny in recent times over allegations of paper leaks and examination-related irregularities, prompting the government to undertake a comprehensive review of the agency's functioning.
