CBI Arrests Retired Judge in Twisha Sharma Death Probe

Bhopal, May 28, 2026

The investigation into the suspicious death of Twisha Sharma took a significant turn after the CBI arrested retired judge and Twisha’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh. The development came after the Madhya Pradesh High Court cancelled her anticipatory bail, allowing the agency to move ahead with stricter legal action in the high-profile case.

Reports suggest the court considered multiple allegations, including WhatsApp conversations, injury marks and claims of harassment linked to the case. Investigators are also examining accusations related to dowry harassment and mental cruelty raised by Twisha Sharma’s family, which have become central to the ongoing probe.

The case has remained under close public attention since Twisha Sharma died at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal. Earlier, her husband Samarth Singh was also questioned during the investigation. Growing demands for an impartial inquiry eventually led to the CBI taking over the case for a deeper examination of the circumstances surrounding her death.

With Giribala Singh now in CBI custody, the investigation is expected to move into a crucial phase. The case continues to trigger widespread debate and public interest, while authorities work to uncover further details and establish accountability in the matter.
