A dispute over a gas cylinder turned tense at a gas agency in Kanpur on Saturday after a woman allegedly slapped a young customer standing in line. The incident occurred at a gas agency located near HAL Township in the Chakeri area, where a large crowd had gathered to collect LPG cylinders. The argument quickly escalated, leading to a heated scene outside the agency.


According to reports, the young woman, identified as Palak Singh, had reached the Samriddhi Gas Agency around 8 a.m. to get a gas cylinder. As the crowd increased, agency staff reportedly asked her to help collect customers’ passbooks to manage the queue. While she was doing this, another woman arrived and tried to take the passbooks from her, which led to a disagreement between the two.


During the argument, the woman suddenly slapped Palak Singh, which shocked the people standing nearby. The situation quickly turned chaotic as other customers started protesting and raised their voices against the incident. The woman reportedly became angry with others present at the spot as well, adding to the tension outside the agency.


After receiving a call, the Uttar Pradesh Police  reached the spot and managed to calm the situation. Police questioned the woman involved in the incident, but no formal complaint was filed by the victim. Authorities said the exact reason behind the woman’s behavior is still not clear. The incident has sparked discussion among local residents about the growing rush and frustration at gas agencies.
