Delhi Is for All’: CM Rekha Gupta Condemns Racial Abuse of Northeast Women in Malviya Nagar

Delhi | 25 Feb 2026

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has strongly reacted to a disturbing incident in which three women from the Northeast were allegedly subjected to racial abuse and threats in Malviya Nagar. Calling the act unacceptable, she said such behaviour has no place in the national capital and assured strict action against those responsible.

In a video message shared on X, the Chief Minister said, “Delhi belongs to everyone.” She stressed that the city stands for dignity, respect, and safety for all its residents, regardless of their background. Gupta also said she plans to meet the affected women personally to listen to their concerns and offer support.

Assuring firm action, she stated, “Here, the dignity, respect, and safety of every citizen is paramount. I will meet with them personally. The police are taking legal action with full responsibility, and we will ensure that the strictest possible action is taken against the culprits. Harassing, discriminating against, or humiliating any daughter will not be tolerated at any cost.” According to her, the Delhi Police are handling the matter seriously.

Rekha Gupta further underlined the larger message of unity and responsibility, saying, “We are all one, and the safety of every daughter is our utmost responsibility.” The incident in Malviya Nagar has once again raised concerns over racial discrimination, with the Chief Minister’s response aiming to reassure citizens that such acts will be dealt with firmly and without compromise.
