Dehradun | 25 Feb 2026
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday made it clear that his government is not acting with discrimination against any community, but is taking strict steps against those trying to change the demography of “Devbhoomi” through dishonest means. He said the administration is working strictly in line with public sentiment and constitutional values.
Speaking at the Hindustan Summit-Uttarakhand 2026, Dhami said his government is guided by the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Prayas.” He stressed that no specific group is being targeted, adding, “Our actions are not driven by discrimination. However, we will act firmly against those who try to change the character of Devbhoomi through deceitful practices.”
On the issue of encroachments, the chief minister said that illegal occupation in any form will not be tolerated. He stated that wherever encroachment is identified, action is being taken to remove it. “Uttarakhand is Devbhoomi, where people live in love and harmony. But we will not tolerate any kind of encroachment,” he said, while clarifying that enforcement drives are not directed at any particular community.
Highlighting economic progress, Dhami said the state has seen a major rise in mining revenue after the introduction of a new policy. He said annual earnings have increased from around ₹400 crore earlier to more than ₹1,200 crore in the last two years. The chief minister also noted that the Centre has provided ₹100 crore each for two consecutive years under a special incentive scheme. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for continued support and announced that a “grand and divine” Kumbh Mela will be organised in Haridwar in 2027, with ₹500 crore already released by the Centre for its preparations.
