India emerged victorious in the 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, claiming a record-extending sixth title after a commanding win over England by 100 runs in the final at Harare Sports Club on February 6. Led by captain Ayush Mhatre, India set a new benchmark for the largest margin of victory in terms of runs in a U19 World Cup final.


The star of the final was 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played an extraordinary innings, scoring 175 runs off just 80 balls. His sensational knock propelled India to a massive total of 411/9 in 50 overs, giving the team a dominant position from the outset. In response, England tried to fight back, with Caleb Falconer scoring a brilliant 115 off 67 balls, but it wasn’t enough to bridge the gap. England was eventually bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs.


India’s triumph capped an unbeaten campaign in which the team won all eight of its matches. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was not only the top scorer in the final but also finished the tournament with 439 runs in seven matches, solidifying his status as the standout performer. England’s Ben Mayes ended as the tournament’s highest run-scorer with 444 runs, while Manny Lumsden topped the wickets chart with 16 scalps.


The 2026 U19 World Cup, co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15 to February 6, showcased exceptional young talent from across the globe.
