In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that the athletes’ “extraordinary, record-breaking performance” reflected their relentless spirit and dedication. He added that winning 20 medals—along with nine golds—was possible only because of their discipline, determination and belief in themselves. The Prime Minister congratulated the entire team and extended his best wishes for their future competitions, noting that the nation’s pride had soared with this achievement.


Union Home Minister Amit Shah also joined in celebrating the athletes, describing the performance as “dazzling” and highlighting the hard work that went into the victory. He noted that the combination of nine gold, six silver and five bronze medals showcased the growing strength of Indian boxing. He also shared that such achievements would inspire young and upcoming athletes across the country, showing them what dedication and consistent effort can lead to.


The tournament saw India’s women boxers leading the charge with a powerful display. Minakshi (48 kg), Preeti (54 kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70 kg) and Nupur (80+ kg) each claimed gold, forming a strong foundation for the medal tally. They were further supported by outstanding wins from Nikhat Zareen (51 kg), Jaismine Lamboria (57 kg) and Parveen (60 kg), who also topped their respective categories. With seven gold medals from the women’s side alone, the Indian contingent proved their rising dominance in international boxing.


The men’s team added to the celebratory mood with two gold medals—won by Sachin Siwach (60 kg) and Hitesh Gulia (70 kg). Several male boxers delivered strong performances that earned them silver medals, including Jadumani Singh (50 kg), Pawan Bartwal (55 kg), Abhinash Jamwal (65 kg), Ankush Panghal (80 kg) and Narendra Berwal (90+ kg). Their consistency and resilience were praised by coaches and officials attending the tournament.
