MP CM Distributes Scooters to Toppers, Major Sanitation Boost for Girls

Bhopal, September 12, 2025 — Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav today distributed scooters to high-achieving Class 12 students and announced a major drive to improve sanitation and hygiene facilities for over 20 lakh girl students in state schools. The event, held in Bhopal, spotlighted the government's efforts to reward academic excellence and invest in menstrual and hygiene infrastructure.

At the ceremony, the Chief Minister handed over scooter keys to 10 of the top performing students in person, as part of a wider scheme that will benefit 7,832 Class 12 toppers across the state. This is intended as recognition for their hard work and to help them with mobility, especially in rural or remote areas.

In parallel, Yadav announced funding to the tune of ₹61 crore dedicated to improving sanitation and hygiene in girls’ schools. This includes constructing or upgrading toilets, ensuring clean water supply, and providing sanitary materials where needed. The goal is to ensure that girls face fewer barriers to education caused by inadequate sanitation.

The Chief Minister also pointed to broader educational infrastructure improvements, including setting up of “Sandipani Schools,” designed to uplift academic quality and support students in preparing for higher studies or competitive exams. He underlined that the state has already provided laptops, bicycles, and other aids to students over preceding years, reflecting a sustained focus on education.

Yadav emphasized that such initiatives align with the vision of making students not just job-seekers but “job creators,” through industrialization and skill development. The move is seen as part of the broader strategy of the MP government to improve quality of life, especially for girls, and reduce dropout rates due to lack of facilities.
