Delhi Assembly Evacuated Again After Fresh Bomb Threat Email, Security Intensified Across City

New Delhi | March 25, 2026

Panic gripped the national capital on Wednesday after a fresh bomb threat email led to the evacuation of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, marking the second such incident in two days. The threatening email, reportedly sent in the early hours, warned of multiple explosive devices inside the premises. Authorities immediately evacuated the building and launched a comprehensive security operation.

According to officials, the email was addressed to the office of Speaker Vijender Gupta and claimed that 16 RDX-based improvised explosive devices had been planted in the Assembly. Security agencies, including bomb disposal squads, dog units, and crime branch teams, carried out extensive searches across the premises. However, no suspicious objects have been found so far.

This incident follows similar threat emails received a day earlier targeting the Assembly and nearby locations, including the Delhi Metro network. Police sources indicated that the threatening messages also mentioned several high-profile leaders, raising concerns and prompting heightened vigilance across sensitive areas in the city.

Authorities have increased security measures across key locations, including government buildings, metro stations, and public spaces. Officials stated that while previous threats were declared hoaxes, strict precautionary steps are being taken in light of repeated incidents. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the emails and ensure public safety.
