Global Conflicts Raise Concerns: Rajnath Singh Calls for Dialogue Amid West Asia Crisis
Haldwani | March 21, 2026
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday expressed concern over the growing global instability, stating that the world is currently passing through a challenging phase marked by conflicts in several regions. He highlighted that the ongoing tensions and attacks in West Asia are not only a concern for India but for the entire international community.
Addressing a public programme in Haldwani to mark four years of the state government, Singh spoke about the potential risks emerging from the conflict, including possible disruptions in energy and food supply. He noted that such developments could have wider economic implications if the situation escalates further.
The Defence Minister, however, added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has so far managed to remain largely protected from major energy or food crises linked to global tensions.
Reiterating India’s stance on international conflicts, Singh emphasised that dialogue and diplomacy remain the most effective ways to resolve disputes. He said India continues to advocate for peaceful solutions and constructive engagement to ensure stability in the region.
