PM Narendra Modi will be on Two-Day Assam Visit, Development Projects and Welfare Initiatives on Agenda

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on  a two-day visit to the northeastern state of Assam, where he is scheduled to launch and inaugurate several major development initiatives. The visit focuses on strengthening infrastructure, improving connectivity and supporting welfare schemes across the state. During the tour, the Prime Minister will participate in foundation-laying ceremonies, inaugurations and public programmes in different cities.


On the first day of the visit, the Prime Minister will arrive in Kokrajhar, where he will perform Bhoomi Poojan and lay the foundation stones for several infrastructure projects. These include a new phase of the Assam Mala road initiative and multiple road projects such as flyovers and bridges aimed at improving connectivity in the Bodoland Territorial Region. Along with this, he will also lay the foundation stone for a railway Periodic Overhauling Workshop in the city and flag off new train services, including the Kamakhya–Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, the Guwahati–New Jalpaiguri Express and the Narangi–Agartala Express. The Prime Minister will also address a large public gathering before leaving for Guwahati.


In Guwahati, the Prime Minister will participate in several programmes where he will inaugurate and dedicate a range of development projects to the nation. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and boosting economic growth in the region. During the event, he will also release the latest installment of the PM‑KISAN scheme, which provides financial support to farmers across the country.


On the second day of the visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Silchar, where he will lay foundation stones and inaugurate additional development projects. These initiatives are expected to further improve infrastructure and connectivity in the area. The visit highlights the government’s continued focus on development and welfare programmes in the northeastern states.
