Security Stepped Up at Ranveer–Deepika’s Mumbai Home After Extortion Threat
Mumbai | 10 Feb 2026
Actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have increased security outside their Mumbai residence after Ranveer allegedly received a threatening WhatsApp voice note. The message reportedly demanded money running into crores, prompting the couple to take immediate safety measures. Following this, armed security personnel were deployed outside their home to prevent any mishappening.
An official letter sent by the housing society to the Dadar Police Station has confirmed the development. As per the letter, six armed security guards were stationed outside the couple’s residence without taking ‘permission’ from the Society Managing Committee. In addition to this, one uniformed police officer has also been posted outside the building to ensure safety.
However, the Society Managing Committee raised a ‘serious concern’ over the presence of armed personnel within common areas of the complex. The letter mentioned that security guards were seen moving around with weapons in shared spaces such as the lobby, gymnasium, and children’s play area. The committee requested the police to verify the situation and clarify whether official permission had been granted for such deployment.
According to reports, Ranveer informed the Mumbai Police soon after receiving the extortion threat. Acting swiftly, the police tightened security around the residence and launched an investigation to trace the sender of the threatening voice note. Officials are currently examining digital leads, and further details are expected as the probe continues.
